Inspiration
The inspiration of the game comes from a dream I had before, I dreamt about a scene where I was being chased in a castle, I conceived the idea of the game based on this scene, and carried out the basic setting of the game, which takes place in the nightmare world of positioning.
The dream world is a space of infinite possibilities, and I wanted to use fragmented narratives and environmental interactions to create a gameplay experience that was both disturbing and engaging.
Thinking about the gameplay, I started out wanting to make a horror-based puzzle game, but I didn't come up with a great script, so I wanted to simplify that part of it and make the game an exploratory escape room. There are patrol units and stationary units in the field, and there are some eggs in the environment to form a multi-layered nested dream world, a kind of Inception feel to the game.
At the same time, I went further in my crafting and visual search and selected a combination of brats and gargoyles as the game's enemies, and it was actually a combo pack that I felt was more interesting.
On top of this set of characters, I made some maps for selected low polygon scenes to make the style look more unified.
For the starting scene I chose a room and added dimly rendered lighting to make the return of the venue obvious to the player, and advanced the game by placing little ghosts as NPCs to attract the player and explain what the game is about and what the goal is.
The Plan
Due to time constraints, the game is now nested in only one scene for the dream loop, and the flow is relatively short, but more dream scenes will be nested next to expand the flow of the game.
